About

Prints is a series of unique printed drawings that divert the function of the 3D printer as an interface to draw.

This paradoxical approach creates visuals that challenge the conventional expectations associated with 3D printing. The formal language overtakes the technical language by investigating compositions, collages, shapes and colors. The silky materiality of the drawings reflects light to render an illusion of three-dimensionality defying our perceptions of volumes and materials.

This project is the start of an ongoing investigation between artist Audrey Julien and designer Arno Mathies.
